PUBLIC-FACING PROJECTS
PRIME PLACE APARTMENTS, STILLWATER, OK 2022
Commissioned by the owner, this set of two murals span walls approximately 4’ each, and over 200’ long. The work was designed with the population of the apartments in mind, along with the purpose of the spaces.
The first is an abstract Henri Matisse-inspired cool-colored design next to a swimming pool paired with Stillwater’s signature orange furniture. The second is designed with similar shapes and a combination of pinks and primaries to bring some playfulness to a sandy area intended for grilling out, volleyball, and sunshine.
BUILDING SUNSHINE, DOWNTOWN STILLWATER, OK 2023
The City of Stillwater and the Prairie Arts Center teamed up with my Visual Thinking classes at Oklahoma State University during the spring of 2023 to complete a permanent outdoor mural to honor the city’s first female mayor, Chris Salmon. Located downtown Stillwater, the mural is installed at the Chris Salmon Plaza and completed by around 30 of my foundations of two-dimensional art and design students.
Each student competed for the design to be presented to the city, and Carlee Roddy, a freshman in 2023, was awarded the winning designer. More information about this project can be found here.
DARK BOTANICALS/ FRANKLIN WALL FLOWERS, FRANKLIN, KY 2024 (in progress)
It’s no secret that Franklin, Kentucky is dripping with charm and tradition. This design kept Franklin’s unique character in mind with inspiration from its sweet sunflower fields, familial, warm roots, and small-town kindness.
Originally, Dark Botanicals, now known as #FranklinWallFlowers, I drew additional inspiration from the lush, complex floral still lifes of the early 19th century harkening to tradition and symbolizing growth and gathering. This mural is approximately 1,800 square feet at 30’ tall and 60’ long.
